100th Battalion
The Pacific Resource Partnership spearheaded efforts in March 2006 to renovate the clubhouse used by the veterans of the U.S. Army’s 100th Infantry Battalion.
Built in 1952, the clubhouse on Kamoku Street was in need of more than $40,000 in long-overdue repairs. PRP recruited volunteers from the Hawaii Carpenters Union to repair termite damage and to build several newspaper recycling bins for an adjacent apartment building. PRP also recruited the Roofers Union and the Painters Union to do additional repairs to the clubhouse.
The clubhouse serves as home away from home for the vets, who use the spotless facility for meetings, classes and karaoke.
