The Pacific Resource Partnership serves as the critical link between Hawaii's top contractors and the largest construction union in the state, the 7,600-member Hawaii Carpenters Union. As an advocate for unionized construction and an influential resource for management, PRP is able to bridge these traditional divides to successfully lead efforts that sustain the robust health of the building industry. Since its formation in 1979, PRP has leveraged its position as a labor-management interface to strengthen Hawaii's economy and improve the quality of life for its residents.
Working with its extensive network of public and private developers and contractors, and the unionized carpenters who help drive Hawaii's third largest industry, PRP has advanced initiatives that improve labor-management relationships, increase work place safety, enhance efficiency, and reduce construction costs. PRP's efforts have bolstered the building sector, which has seen record growth in recent years.
Companies large and small look to PRP as a partner to:
- Strategically identify commercial, residential and resort development opportunities throughout the state;
- Navigate Hawaii's complex labor-management environment;
- Assist with legislation and public policy development and support;
- Guide projects through the federal, state and county development process; and
- Facilitate relationships with potential business and community organizations.
PRP's comprehensive research and analysis capabilities combined with its extensive marketing reach give its signatory contractors and development partners an edge in today's highly competitive building segment. Utilizing its advanced information-mining capacity, PRP is able to quickly identify trends and help partners adjust to shifts in the marketplace. When issues affecting the industry need to be brought to the public forefront, PRP uses its marketing and promotions resources to mobilize support and increase broad-based awareness.
A respected and recognized community leader, PRP uses its influence and resources to increase opportunities throughout the state that create jobs, support education and encourage long-term sustainability.
PRP and its partners touch the lives of all who live, work and play here. They have used their integrity, creativity and commitment to excellence to shape the state's foremost residential communities, hotels and resorts, schools, office buildings, and government facilities.
