Tools of the Trade

The Pacific Resource Partnership developed the Tools of the Trade educator internship program in 2006 to provide state Department of Education faculty members with an up-close look at the construction industry.

The two-week program is held every June and is open to teachers and counselors from Construction Academy schools. By increasing their knowledge about the building industry, educators are better prepared to teach and advise students who are considering careers in construction.

Internship activities include meeting with PRP’s signatory contractors, developers, architects, and other industry professionals and learning pre-construction processes such as estimating, bidding and sub-contracting.
